Wyoming’s trona mines run deep—both underground and within the heart of its communities. Afar & Below: The Story of the Wyoming Trona Miners, a new original documentary from Wyoming PBS and Burning Torch Productions, offers a rare glimpse into the lives of the miners who fuel one of the state’s most vital industries.
Through a day spent underground, the film explores the culture, camaraderie, and resilience that define Wyoming’s trona miners, revealing how their work impacts life far beyond the mine shafts. Following the screening, filmmaker Mark Pedri will lead a panel discussion featuring those who know the trona story best.
