This spectacular scenic drive takes in the arid and colorful landscape surrounding the Green River as it slowly tumbles from its namesake city to Lake Flaming Gorge. The Journey Begins:

• Distance: 150 miles (suitable for most vehicles)
• Route: From Green River or Rock Springs, exit I-80 onto the byway and loop around Lake Flaming Gorge.

Disclaimer: This is a true “off the grid experience,” and cell service is limited! Make sure you have extra water, and a high-clearance, four-wheel-drive vehicle with thick tires (and a spare tire) to traverse the dirt roads. Let someone know where you are headed and when you plan to return.
