The tradition of hunting for big game and game birds on Wyoming’s public land is strong, particularly in Sweetwater County. Many residents are avid hunters who enjoy sharing the experience with family and friends. Make no mistake about it: hunters from around the country are a tad jealous that we have so many great, sustainable hunting grounds in our backyard.

From big game species such as elk, moose, mule deer and antelope, to a variety of waterfowl and the stately sage grouse, there are plenty of species to pursue. As the largest county in the state, Sweetwater County offers something for every hunter, whether using a rifle or bow and arrow.
